A fantastic night of swing, the band was invited to play for a very important birthday celebration, many happy returns for the evening.
With this being our last concert of the 2015/16 season at Holiday Inn Barnsley we wanted to try something a little different, so we created a feast of big band sounds which contrasted older big band music with the more modern big band music.
We were pleased to welcome the South Yorkshire Musical & Comedy Society in this joint concert of big band classics. SYCMS have been entertaining the public for over 60 years. Performances on the night included music from the classic big band era as well as music from musicals and the rat pack.
We had the pleasure of performing at the wedding of Miss. Danielle Day & Mr. Thomas Saunders. It was in the beautiful setting of Castle Howard and with the weather remaining dry and bright the couple had a perfect day for their wedding. I would just like congratulate Mr. & Mrs Saunders and on behalf of the band we wish them all the best for the future.
Believe it or not it was our first time at Barnsley Jazz Club! We had a packed appreciative audience and a big warm welcome. All the classic 1940s big band music went down well and there was even some dancing taking place! A very enjoyable night for us all.
It was a great evening showcasing Frank Sinatra’s greatest hits & Ella Fitzgerald the First Lady of jazz. Jordan & Anne sang great and we had a few laughs along way.
It was a big warm welcome back after the festivities of Christmas as we took our audience on a musical journey through the decades starting with traditional Dixieland jazz through to modern day big band hits.

The clock struck 7:30 and the band opened the evening with Sun Valley Jump. The audience was led through an evening of sounds from the stage and silver screen, “Laras Theme”, “The Pink Panther”, “Skyfall” and the Theme from “Rock” were just a few of the numbers included in the evenings set list.
