The weather was on our side today as we played in the band stand at Elsecar Park in front of a wonderful audience, thank you to everyone who came to see us play!

Wow, what a night … The Glitz, The Glamour, The Razzamatazz.
The opening notes of F W Meacham’s American Patrol started the musical entertainment for the night, the dance floor filled as the Dearne Big Band played Jazz and swing standards through to the wee small hours of the morning.
A great night to be remembered, thanks to ALL who made the event possible, the event team, the organisers, the players and of-course everyone who enjoyed the night with us.

A more intimate dinner dance was the setting for tonight, presenting a twelve piece band we provided background music through the formal dinner. Once the toasts, coffee and mints were finished on to the swing and dance music bringing the evening to a pleasant end
The winter season closed in style as the band’s own trio of singers returned centre stage, the sounds of Frank, Dean and Sammy rang out around the Holiday Inn as our “Rat Pack” raised the roof leaving the capacity audience calling for “more”.
Well done all
Next years dates will be published soon, keep watching this space …
Great audience, great venue, Barnsley Jazz club welcomed the band on stage with a capacity audience. The songs of Vera Lynn filled the air as we celebrated her “mile stone” birthday.
Carlton Park took on the glitz and glamour of Vegas tonight as the Dearne Big Band introduced its own “Rat Pack”. The room came alive to the sounds of Dean Martin, Sammy Davies Junior, and Frank Sinatra. Three singers returned centre stage to bring this night alive, the night ended in perfect style with all 3 bringing the house down with “New York, New York!”
Another favourite for the band, the Todwick Jazz Club. This intimate venue always has a capacity audience, and the hospitality is first class!
There is nothing the band likes more than being involved in raising funds for a good cause, and tonight was no exception, the Dearne Big Band performing for Hesley Wood Scouts Activity Centre tonight, helping them to raise money for an all access Beaver play area.
