One of the favourites for the band, we were privileged to be invited back to Magna Real Ale and Music Festival. A great venue, audience, and of course liquid refreshment. We all had a great time playing today.
“Lights up” as the Dearne Big Band opened to a full house, the sounds of Broadway, the West End and the silver screen filled the air with the ‘Magic of the Musicals Night’ at the Holiday Inn Barnsley.
Saturday night, and the band was on stage at the Transport Club, Sheffield. The evening started off with Miller classics, moving through to a more “modern” selection of numbers, “Manhattan Skyline” and a medley from “Mamma Mia” and more, to wind the evening to a close with big band favourites “Moonlight Serenade” and In “The Mood”. The band then handed over to our DJ for the evening taking the party onward through the night.
Promoted from the orchestra pit to centre stage, the band opened the night with Jerry Gray’s arrangement of Anvil Chorus, the night progressed through theatre and musical hall favourites old and new, Mamma Mia, Chorus Line and many more …
A great night, enjoyed by all, left the audience eagerly waiting for the season finale: “Las Vegas with the Rat Pack”, on the 12th March, we look forward to seeing you there.
The Dearne Big Band’s own Frank and Ella sang to a crowded room for tonights concert, we’re still working out who walked away with the largest fan club, the Franks or our own Ella …. Well sung all
Frank and Ella (well our own versions of) entertained the audience at Carlton Park with well known loved numbers, leaving the audience clamoring for more !!! The band and singers had great evening. Thanks to all who came along! 🎶🎉🎊
It was a pleasure to be invited back to the Wakefield & District Branch of the Royal Artillery Association celebration of St Barbara, and Remembrance service.
We had a great evening performing at the Holiday Inn Barnsley for our ‘Music from the Glenn Miller Years’ concert. We were joined by the Dearne Valley Singers singing the classic Glenn Miller vocals and we had a lovely appreciative audience.
We look forward to our next concert at the Holiday Inn on Sunday 27th November where the theme of the evening is ‘Songs that won the War. Hope
to see you there!
